The Happiest Gal on Earth

Well, I think you kinda get the whole idea from the title. I think most girls out there would feel how I'm feeling right now..no matter it only happens once in awhile and I can reassure you that I don't feel like this regularly. It's just that lately I think most things are going really well or at least things move towards the way that I wanted them to be..do you get what I mean?!? I'm not talking about materialistic aspect though no matter I need to mention that daddy just bought a new VW van...wicked! I just can't wait to get behind the wheel....but I still love my baby Lexus the most though...she's my beauty *hmm...now sound so lesbian* hehehe Well, I'm still a materialistic gal at the very end of the day.

I have such a lovely family and I love them to death and nothing can replace my love for them. I have such a wonderful pack of friends and no matter some of them are not in Thailand but I know the feelings that we have for each other are mutual. Lastly, I have a wonderful boyfriend who I can hardly wait to see him and yes I wish time could fly faster so we can see each other. I don't think I should inscribe my love that I have to my family because my love for them is indescribable and no matter I want to write them down, there won't be enough space for me to express how grateful I am to have them in my presence. For my friends, you know I love you guys so much and life won't turn out as the way it is now without you all. For my Jo, thank you so much for putting up with me and no matter we have our ups and downs, we learn to talk to each other and try our best not to repeat our mistakes. You have no idea how thankful I am to have you with me.

I would like to dedicate today's post to my nooby...without you I won't be calling myself as the happiest gal on earth.

Thank you for all the things that you've done for me, it truly shows me that you care.
Thank you for waking up early so you can talk to me, no matter you have to rush to work and sometimes even late for it.
Thank you so much for all the waiting, no matter it is obvious that we both hate it but you still do.
Thank you so much for making me smile when I feel down and trying your best just to make my day...no matter how exhausted you are from work.
Thank you so much for sacrificing your quality time with your friends just to talk to me when I needed.
Thank you so much for all the emails, you don't know how much I love reading them..over and over.
Thank you so much for saying that you won't take this whole thing for granted.
Thank you so much thinking of me constantly.
Thank you so much for listening.
Thank you so much for saying sorry, just to make me feel better.
Thank you so much for telling me things without me asking.
and lastly....
Thank you so much for making me the happiest gal on earth.

nonspecific thought

okay this is quite random, I watched the Grim last week on Cartoon Network Channel and Billy made such a stupid comment but I found it's quite funny... maybe I'm as stupid as Billy..who knows.

He said "Your mama is stupid..she put on lipstick on her head..just to make up her MIND"

hahahaha... well..maybe it's only me who think it's funny...*darn*

Bye Bye Sit..

Sit my cool pal,

You are now probably sitting on the plane and either sleeping or watching some stupid lame movie in which provided by United Airways right now. Around 6 more hours to go before you reach your destination and I just wish you all the best and good luck on everything. I know you will be good in whatever you do and don't forget to keep in touch.

Time surely passed by slowly last night or should we call it 'this morning'...when we all three spent time at Starbucks talking and yawning. Don't get me wrong, I loved our talk and really enjoyed myself accompanied you before your check-in time but 2.30a.m. in the morning was a bit too late for this healthy little gal to stay up..hahaha.. However, me and Kwan remained there until time for you to leave, 3a.m. and that was when the real goodbye began. Life won't be easy Sit I can reassure that, but it depends on how you interpret each situation. You can either make a big fuss on small little things or you can just look pass them and try to overcome whatever things that might interfere in the future.

As a friend, it is my job to always be there for you and try my very best to listen to your problems and cheering you up when it is needed. So no matter how far we are just keep in mind that I will always be here for my old pal. Take care and look after yourself Sit... Goodbye

*Oh don't forget that you better come back here and go work at Shang with me..hahaha..

Sit Sit Sit.. ^^

Three of us @ Starbucks
(Time: between 1.30-2.45a.m.)

bye bye Sit..

Pandanus

As I gave you my word from last night that I will write about 'Pandanus Bar Bristo' today and here I am...ready?

Well, I found this restaurant from Food website which I dare say that it's the darn good place for food resources. Anyhow, I decided to pay Pandanus a visit last night, however I made sure that me and my friend will get seats straight away when we reach to the venue so I gave them a quick phone call for a reservation. I wanted to get sofa seats just to get a glimpse of comfort as you can imagine. However, I was informed that those seats are all taken and the place is almost fully booked, in other word, just sit wherever they give you so be tough and live with it (except that they didn't say that okay..hehehe..don't get the wrong idea).

The location of Pandanus Bar Bristo is in Soi:Satorn 1 (Soi Nunta), it's on the right hand side, very easy to find. Nevertheless, due to the location is situated inside small street there are a limitation on parkings. Therefore, my best advice for people who want to enjoy their time at Pandanus but do not wish to develop more wrinkles onto your faces caused by looking for parking, taking a cab is the best idea for you all.

Nevertheless, I made an appointment at 7p.m. but I got there before time as the traffic wasn't so bad and yes I was quite surprised as well. My first impression for this place before I walk into the restaurant is the contrast between two. What I mean by contrast is that the place looks very cosy because of soft looking/colors of furnitures while the traffic outside the restaurant is always congested. So you sort of get two feelings at once. I wouldn't recommend to sit in the outdoor area if you come during dinner time for the reason that I stated before, traffic congested. You and your friends might lose appetite due to smokes, tooting sounds etc. However, if you come during lunch time, it might be different story and they also provide you a big fan in case of hot weather.

I walked into the restaurant and without realizing, there were two friendly staffs welcome me and asking whether I have booking or not. After I told them my name, they guided me to my table, beverage menu was presented to me within less than 30 seconds. After a quick look around, the place is rather big and most of the tables had reserved sign on. Well, I know some restaurants just simply put the sign on just for the sake of it, not because those tables are reserved. Despite my negativity on reserved sign, I can reassure you that won't be an issue at Pandanus. There are such a variety of drinks both alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks provided here, including smoothies and wines. I ordered Hawaiian Dream, it's a combination of pineapple and orange (which I subsequently found out that they also have a mixture of coconut milk...weird taste I must say). I also ordered Crispy Crab as an appetizer, since I had to wait for my friend to arrive. My drink was served in 10 minutes while add in another 5 minutes Crispy Crab followed by.

From the look of this dish, it looks presentable with a whole deep fried crab, a decent amount of handcut potato chips and side salad which I discovered that there was a pinch of vinegar sauce right at the bottom of salad. I really enjoyed this dish as you can basically eat the whole crap without peeling anything off. For the drink, it gave me a funny taste at the very first sip but it didn't entirely put me off but always think twice before I went for another sip as you can imagine. Maybe it's the unpleasant coconut taste that caused me to feel that way.

Friend arrived and decided to order more dishes, so we had Grilled Salmon with Green Curry and Spinach covered with melty cheese. I have to mention as we go on that at Pandanus, they serve fusion/Thai cuisine food so some dishes might not look like as you expected but I guess you hhave to put the prejudice aside and actually try it. Like I always say, you don't know until you try. When we ordered grilled salmon with green curry, I expected it to come in a bowl and found out that it came on a big flat plate. Grilled salmon on top and green curry at the bottom, not creamy green curry but not so dry. I loved this dish as well, I guess with fusion food, it makes you sort of make people think about how far food can go in terms of decoration and taste. I'm not a big fan of spinach but I guess melty cheese helped me to enjoy it. All the dishes are in reasonable size and we were full from these three dishes..quite rare actually.

However, we still left some room for dessert I guess you just have to try bits of this and that right. I had strawberry shortcake while my friend had Chocolate brownie. I loved how Pandanus presents each dish in distinguish style, it shows their creativity if you know what I mean. Desserts were alright not as convincing as main dishes. The price for the whole meal is around THB 1,400 including service charged and VAT. It's quite high comparing to normal restaurants but you need to keep in mind that you also pay for this funky place with nice services from these lovely staffs.

Overall, I really enjoyed my meal and my time there considering we spent almost 4 hours there. The place is easily located, staffs are presentable and exceedingly helpful. I actually asked them that usually how many days in advance that custmers need to make for reservation. She said probably 5-6 days in advance which is fair enough. I was at the bottom floor, while the second floor is a bar area with loud music so you can actually throw a dance party with your friends up there if you wish but for me, I prefer a nice, breezy music so I can actually hear my friends while chatting, not yelling but also enjoy my night away with good meals.

Please note: pictures are in ghastly poor conditions due to my stupid phone. I forgot to bring a proper camera... yes it's my fault!!!

A little alcohol 'can be healthy'

I found this article on BBC News website and I think it's rather interesting. If you want to read the whole article just click on this link http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/7177506.stm I only took half of the article to here.
......................................

A little alcohol combined with a healthy active lifestyle may be the best recipe for a longer life.

A European Heart Journal study suggests the combination can cut the risk of heart disease.

A Danish team found people who led an active lifestyle were less prone to heart disease - but the risk was cut still further if they drank moderately.

However, UK experts warned people should not be encouraged to drink, as too much alcohol can be very damaging.

The researchers followed nearly 12,000 men and women for nearly 20 years, during which 1,242 died from ischaemic heart disease (IHD).

Overall, they found people who did not drink or take any exercise had the highest risk of heart disease - 49% higher than people who either drank, exercised or did both.

When comparing people who took similar levels of exercise, they found that those who drank moderately - one to 14 units of alcohol a week - were around 30% less likely to develop heart disease than non-drinkers.

This finding held good for people who were completely inactive, through to those who took vigorous regular exercise - with the overall risk declining as exercise levels increased.

Non-drinkers who were physically active had a 31%-33% reduced risk of IHD compared to physically inactive non-drinkers.

But their reduced risk was dwarfed by physically active people who drank at least one drink a week - their risk was up to 50% lower than that of physically inactive non-drinkers.

...........................................................

*Note: what I like the most is the 9th paragraph because that is ME hahaha.. Maybe I should pick on some exercises and drinking at the very same time. Hahaha..Enjoy living everyone.

Yay..yay..

Jo told me just now that he's coming here in May. I know it's still a long while to go and I'm going to see him next month anyway...so what's all the fuss right. However, I'm so happy that he's coming in May despite the fact that he's also going to visit me in Novemeber as well. I guess it's just the feeling that you will get to see someone who is so special to you more than you expected...do you feel me? It's so funny how he asked me to accept this pdf file via MSN just before and it turned out to me the copy of his itinerary, just to prove that he's serious about coming here to visit me...so sweet. I guess I better start planning on where to take him and what to do when he comes here...any suggestions? no dodgy suggestions thank you very much... HAHAHAHAHAHA

Update

Hmm..it's been a big while since I last updated my blog..well as in a proper writing not just some random lyrics or notes. Life has been pretty good so far, well at least in the past few months. No health issue or financial issue (yet!) and hope I won't have any problems regarding those two things..EVER. I just realize that I didn't even write about Xmas nor New Year, so I might take this opportunity to do so.

Well, on the Christmas day I didn't really do anything actually, just bummed around the house as my family don't celebrate this special occasion due to their belief which is fair enough you know. If I was still in NZ, I'd probably attend Christmas in the park with a few mates and enjoy the night out but oh well I guess you just have to adjust your life to go along with the whole environment here. However, I received this fantastic gift from my special person, Jo ^^, I actually received his parcel a few days earlier and I opened the whole thing withouot realizing that it's for Xmas which means you're not supposed to open it until Dec,25th -_-" Oh well, since I ain't Doraemon and that can only mean one thing that I can't turn back time or teleporting myself back just to warn my other self not to open the gift, so just freaking tearing the whole thing apart and found these wonderful gifts. The first thing that I found in the parcel bag is his card, handmade card to be exact. This is the first handmade card that I've ever received in my entire life and I'm so touched by that. Well, I know I always say that the cost that counts not the thought that counts right since I'm so shallow but when I think of what kind of problems he had to go through just to make this card..I'm so move by this effort. First of all, you have to understand that as a doctor, he works long hours almost everyday right, from 7a.m.-10p.m. (on call) and he told me that he stayed up until 3a.m. just to make me this card and then had only a few hours of sleep and go back to work. That's why when I first opened the card, I was so overwhelemed by the whole thing. Moving on.. let's see what's inside the box...what I encountered inside the box is this small cute soft toy with a crystal bracelet wrapped around his neck..so cute. I later on discovered that it's Swarovski bracelet with Jo's only soft toy, Pingu. Pingu is a penguin who believes that he's an owl, so he painted himself to brown color...stupid but cute hahahaha. Thanks Jo for all these gifts, I really appreciate it *grin*.

That was my Xmas, I think I spent most of the time talking to Jo on MSN. Hmm..MSN is our medium, a way to communicate each other but recently been talking a lot on phone as well..hahaha funny though cuz we both hate talking on the phone but still willing to do that. I guess doing something that you dislike is part of making a good relationship. For the New Year, hmm...okay I guess I have to start right from the New Year's eve. My house was packed of mom's brothers, sisters and my cousins. All the guest rooms were occupied but it was a good fun because the house was no longer empty and quiet, most importantly mom had something else to be headache about apart from dealing with me and my brother hahaha. I remembered that in that week, Siam Paragon was like my second home because I had to drive there so often, just to get things ready for the parties, we had two parties as you can imagine. The first one was on New Year's eve, mainly just among family while the second one was on the following day. Those two days were great fun for us all, especially the party which held on Jan, 1st. We had four food stores set up, over hundred guests came by, a small live band and a gift swapping activity. *Random note, for the gift swapping I got a gift from one of my maids, it was a set of towels, notebook and squeezing soft toy. We let everyone participated in this activity you see..great fun! Then it's party time, it was me and my other trouble maker cousins, well three of them which make it to 4 of us. We decided to go clubbing and the spot that we chose was Santika. We got there quite late due to gift swapping session, we reached the place at midnight and we were the last group that left the place..good fun I must say. I will surely go clubbing with them again..well they already set their minds that they will pay me a visit once a month since I can go clubbing only once a month too..hahaha. Another random note, thanks P'Ball and P'Black for shouting us drinks that night, we really appreciate that. Million thanks and sorry that my younger bro scolded your DJ for turning off the music...hahaha.

That was all the fun that we had during the celebration week, on the next day it was a great lost for the whole nation when the official announced the death of the King's elder sister. Therefore, for people out there who aren't Thais, don't be surprised if you come here and see so many of us wearing black or white outfits, it's a way to pay the respect to this prodigious lost, a way of mourning. sad sad sad.

Anyway, put the sorrowful aside and let's me carry on about what happened yesterday. Yesterday was kinda Junior High reunion for me,eh. It was a great catch up and since Som decided to leave us behind and go back to Japan to work >< .... Oh, i have to finish writing this blog now. Jo is back from work... have to accompany him..hahahaha.. God Bless everyone..

Things that I said....

These are some quotes that I spoke to my friend earlier, I really mean it and I will always keep those stuffs that I said in my mind.
...........................................

Relationship is cosisted of 2 people...no more no less or else it will be overcrowded or too empty.

Future = uncertainty, you don't know what will happen.

The most important thing about relationship despite feeling is time right! and sometimes by being in the same place doesn't mean that your feelings are as strong as ppl who are far apart from each other.

It might sound stupid but i feel grateful that im in a long distance relationship cuz it makes you value each other more, appreciate them more in a way.

.........................
Thanks Jo for making me feel this way... counting down now!!! see you soon ^^
